Ok. So I haven’t seen the Al Gore movie (that’s not a political statement, so no political posts, please!), but there’s a whole lotta green talk going on these days. As far as I can surmise from reading, watching, listening and thinking, going green is nice for the environment but better for the pocket book for corporations – not that there’s anything wrong with that. And with gasoline topping $110 a barrel (can you say goodbye SUV and hello sub-compact, ala the EU), a lot of energy is costing a lot more green, and companies need to invest in technology and process alignment in the supply chain to reduce as much fuel and energy waste as possible.

Have you deployed a Business Intelligence program or set of applications?
If so, Aberdeen Group is currently working on a new research study, due May 1, on “Business Intelligence Deployment Strategies”. With growth of SaaS offerings, data warehouse or business intelligence appliancations, Web-based BI solutions, and BI capabilities embedded within enterprise applications (i.e. ERP, CRM, BPM, etc), companies are now faced with a variety of deployment options for BI. Traditional on-premise software installations still prevail as the dominant method for BI deployment, but alternative approaches are rapidly taking root and gaining attention within the maturing BI marketplace. The study is intended to outline business drivers affected by BI deployment decisions and to uncover the strategies, actions, technology investments and services that Best-in-Class companies are utilizing to effectively deploy BI capabilities.
