In a recent article from Logistics Management, Narendra Mulani talks about the importance of business intelligence in supply chains. Supply chains are becoming more and more sophisticated these days, and with this business evolution comes the necessity for more in-depth data analysis that will help lead to better business decisions.
A cost effective supply chain does more than just track items these days. Solutions that provide visibility into the supply chain can improve buyer and seller transactions, allow companies to be proactive rather than reactive, and equip businesses with easy and continuous monitoring of key metrics.
In the age of cross docking and Just-in-Time manufacturing, actionable intelligence is key. With scorecards, order exception management, and customizable dashboards, companies may continue to ‘trim the fat’ and not only become more efficient, but also smarter.
