In a heated Marketing showdown, Dell announced recently that Dell plans to cut the energy consumption of its laptops and desktops by up to 25 percent between now and 2010 to avoid millions of tons of CO2 emissions. The company openly compared its pledge to HP’s, saying their plan was, “in contrast to Hewlett-Packard’s announcement earlier this year relative to its 2005 offerings. The energy efficiency of Dell OptiPlex desktops has improved nearly 50 percent since 2005, while Latitude laptops have improved 16 percent since 2006.”
Companies fighting over who’s greenest? While directly naming your competitor at times can be trashy, this is one fight I’m not completely opposed to. If only all companies could focus on beeing ‘greener’ than competitors. HP, your move.

I completely agree with this turn of events for Dell! Now more than ever technology is in huge demand, and with consumers always craving more and more, and that means major emissions and pollutants coming from all these companies manufacturing these electronic devices. There is a way around everything, and science and technology are paving the way for companies to be able to go green yet still deliver great useful products. I’m all for it!
Another thing I want to talk about is bioheat, it’s just one small measure that people can take in order to start living a greener lifestyle.
Has anyone ever heard of it, or has switched to it? I want to start taking initiative in turning my home into a greener household, one way I have started is by switching out all my lightbulbs in my home to energy efficient lightbulbs. And I am also seriously considering switching over to bioheat as an alternative to regular oilheat. The thing that I love the most about it is that it’s completely clean burning, and is comprised of a b5 blend of oils which are derived from natural plant and vegetable sustainable resources such as corn, hemp, and avocados just to name a few. If you all want more information on how bioheat, just go on to http://oilheatamerica.com/index.mv?screen=bioheat I work with NORA to bring this info to you all!
