Perhaps one of the biggest goals Inovis has set, in terms of its online presence, is to create a strong business community centered around sharing and learning supply chain knowledge. One of the features on our website we have created to support this goal is our Ask the Experts page. In the past, we have presented topics such as Logistics, Standards, Managed Services, and Deductions. Our question today is:
What topic would you like our experts to cover?

In an effort to get direct feedback from members of our customer base as well as facilitate the sharing of business challenges faced by Inovis customers across various industries, Inovis hosted our first Customer Advisory Boards in both the US and the UK this week. The festivities are wrapping up, and the events were both a success. Thanks to all of those that participated and attended.

With the recent AS2 interoperability certification of our SOA B2B Gateway, BizManager, there appears to be more and more organizations looking for better ways to manage their infrastructure and looking to provide improved services for their business. The enhancements to managing their businesses range from increased flexibility for secure data exchange with multiple protocols and improved security for data at rest, as well as in flight. The challenge: improve business processes, on-boarding capabilities and achieving this in a secure fashion.

In a heated Marketing showdown, Dell announced recently that Dell plans to cut the energy consumption of its laptops and desktops by up to 25 percent between now and 2010 to avoid millions of tons of CO2 emissions. The company openly compared its pledge to HP’s, saying their plan was, “in contrast to Hewlett-Packard’s announcement earlier this year relative to its 2005 offerings. The energy efficiency of Dell OptiPlex desktops has improved nearly 50 percent since 2005, while Latitude laptops have improved 16 percent since 2006.”
Companies fighting over who’s greenest? While directly naming your competitor at times can be trashy, this is one fight I’m not completely opposed to. If only all companies could focus on beeing ‘greener’ than competitors. HP, your move.
