What is the next critical environmental issue for supply chains? Water, according to Harvard Business. An article posted on their website earlier today explains why the linkage between water and business was a hot topic at the August 2009 Stockholm World Water Week. The idea is that “as fresh water becomes more scarce and supplies uncertain, how companies use water and where it comes from will increasingly affect their business risk and opportunities.”

How companies approach their file transfer needs is undergoing some massive changes, causing a shift to a services approach to deal with legacy systems, partner complexity and governance needs.
Gartner’s Frank Kenney recently took a look at the “perfect storm of compliance, risk, governance and performance” in the hot-off-the-press Magic Quadrant for Managed File Transfer. (Check out the full report here).
At Inovis, we use a number of frameworks in working with customers on MFT capabilities.
One approach is to split the MFT process into three buckets: topology, visibility, and the services portfolio.
